Jeremy de Satgé's interest
in the theatre and the performing arts dates from his earliest memories.
But it was not until the age of 24 that he decided to concentrate his efforts
on the performing arts full time, by enrolling at Trinity College of Music,
London, where he studied for four years.
It was in following the Opera Course and in acting classes that Jeremy
realised that he had a talent for stage work - being described by the
Principal of Trinity as "a natural stage animal". He performed
in numerous opera productions and workshops. MUSIC
AND MUSICIANS said of
Trinity College's production of The Merry Wives of Windsor that "Jeremy
de Satgé's Dr. Caius stole the final scene quite effortlessly".
Jeremy de Satgé left Trinity in Summer 1987 with a teaching licentiate in
singing (LTCL) and having been awarded the Fellowship Diploma (FTCL) in
singing performance.
Since leaving Trinity Jeremy de Satgé has divided his time between acting,
singing, singing teaching and his other passion, writing. In 1987/88 he
toured extensively in the U.S.A. taking adaptations of Dickens to schools and
local theatres and since 1988 he has worked as an actor in television, radio
commercials, voice-over and film including several features.
He has also worked as a language coach and singing teacher, teaching privately
from his home. Since 1996 he has continued his own singing studies
privately with Andrew Field.
In 1990/91 Jeremy de Satgé sang as principal bass lay clerk in Worcester
Cathedral Choir, under Dr. Donald Hunt. During 1992 he founded a vocal
group called Cantamus which specialises in music for weddings and other social
and religious occasions. For a number of years he has been Musical
Director of The Catholic Stage Guild.
During 1993 Jeremy appeared in a tour of a Revue Show about P G Wodehouse,
called "What Ho Wodehouse!" (following the successful radio show
earlier that year) in which he played a number of roles including Jeeves and
Aunt Agatha.
During 1994/95, Jeremy was involved in several video productions both as a
voice-over artist. During 1995 and 1996 has been working mostly as a singer.
In 1996 he played the Spanish Ambassador in a Cabaret show called Drake &
Elizabeth at the Rheingold Club in the West End.
He speaks fluent French and Franglais,
is able to pronounce German and Italian well, and can also speak in a variety
of regional dialects. He is a member of Equity.
Jeremy de Satgé is interested in all forms of stage, film, television &
radio and voice-over work and, of course, the opera stage. He is
represented as an actor by Clive Corner Associates (020 8941 8653).
