Born in 1958, Jeremy de Satgé had an early musical training as a chorister in Sheffield Cathedral Choir.  His interest in the theatre and the performing arts generally dates from his earliest memories.  But it was not until the age of 24 that he decided to concentrate his efforts on the performing arts full time, by enrolling at Trinity College of Music, London, where for four years he studied singing with Elizabeth Hawes.

He left Trinity in Summer 1987 with a teaching licentiate in singing (LTCL) and having been awarded the Fellowship Diploma (FTCL) in singing performance.

Since leaving Trinity Jeremy has divided his time between acting, singing, singing teaching and his other passion, writing (both prose and music).  He also works as a language coach and singing teacher, teaching privately from his home.  Since 1996 he has continued his own singing studies privately with Andrew Field.

In 1990/91 Jeremy de Satgé sang as principal bass lay clerk in Worcester Cathedral Choir, under Dr. Donald Hunt.  During 1992 he founded a vocal group called Cantamus which specialises in music for weddings and other social and religious occasions.  For a number of years he has been Musical Director of The Catholic Stage Guild.

During 1993 Jeremy sang with the Opéra de Lyon in a production of Rodrigue et Chimene by Debussy   He sang in the 1993/94 productions of Carmen in Zurich, Munich and Berlin with Classical Productions.  He also returned to the Opéra de Lyon to sing in La Damnation de Faust by Berlioz.  In 1995 he sang in the Royal Opera's production of Carmen in Jerusalem as part of the Israel Festival.

From
1994-2002 Jeremy was a member of the choir of the Guards' Chapel, Wellington Barracks London SW1.  He is currently Director of Music at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Balham (London).

In 1996 Jeremy was asked to be a partner in a new music publishing partnership "The Music Makers" which publishes new works and promotes them through public performance.  He therefore has extended his writing to composing music, concentrating on liturgical music.

Jeremy de Satgé is interested in all forms of stage, film, television & radio and voice-over work and, of course, the opera stage.  He is represented as a singer by Simply Singers (020 7223 7327).
