Composer
Jeremy de Satgé FTCL studied singing at Trinity College of Music (1983-1987). He has a lifelong interest in church music, having sung in the choirs of Sheffield Cathedral, Clifton Cathedral and Worcester Cathedral. He is currently a member of the choir of the Guards' Chapel in London. In 1996 he co-founded
The
Music Makers with two other Catholic composers, the aim of which is to produce new and interesting works of liturgical music. His style is frequently simple, often based on plainsong and he is unusual as being a composer who writes from the singer's point of view. His music has been widely performed in the UK and USA. His debut as a composer was at the 1996 Covent Garden Festival when his piece "Lead, kindly light" (for voice and 'cello) was performed to much critical acclaim.
Jeremy de Satgé's music is available for purchase through The Music Makers (see above hyperlink to web site).
