Software Training

I have a wealth of experience working with computers for over 15 years using a wide variety of software and have worked as a freelance "temp" for a number of companies.  I have instructed many people over the years on the use of software packages, including the computer phobic!

Having been employed principally as a freelance opera singer, actor, writer and composer since leaving Trinity College of Music in 1987, I also teach singing and hold a diploma in music teaching.

My combination of software knowledge (from a user's point of view) and communication skills as a performer make me an ideal teacher of software.  Those with whom I have worked will testify to this.

I firmly believe that software teaching should be made as jargon-free as possible and my teaching style is very much from a user's point of view - as someone experienced with "being thrown in at the deep end" in many offices with varying software packages.  I like to unravel the mystique surrounding computers, particularly for those who find them frightening!

I offer software support tuition either one to one or in a class on the following software: -

  • Windows 95, 98 & NT desktop

  • Lotus SmartSuite including WordPro (& AmiPro), 1-2-3 & Approach at Beginner, Intermediary & Advanced levels

  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook & PowerPoint at Beginner, Intermediary & Advanced levels

  • First Database (specialist database software for the investment industry) at Beginner levels

  • Sibelius Music Notation at Beginner and Intermediary levels

  • Microsoft Publisher 2000

  • Microsoft FrontPage web site design software.
